Join the local Indivisible movement!
Indivisible Tri-Valley's Healthcare Work Group advocates at the local, state, and federal level for policies and legislation that will ensure equitable and affordable health care access for all. We are extremely concerned with current attempts to roll back health care rights and access for our most vulnerable populations and to abandon evidence based policies supporting public health.
Indivisible Tri-Valley’s (ITV) Healthcare Work Group fights for equitable, science-based healthcare access for all. Our work spans different areas of healthcare policy and advocacy, and our interests are shaped by the voices and experiences of our members - your input and participation define our priorities and fuel our work.
Science & Public Health
We are dedicated to holding public officials accountable and ensuring that health agencies prioritize evidence-based science over ideology, while exposing influences that undermine patient well-being. We advocate for equitable public health solutions and support sustained medical research and science education rooted in integrity and honesty.
Patient Rights & Healthcare Access
Healthcare is a human right. We work to remove barriers to care and champion policies that expand and strengthen public programs like Medicare and SSDI. Our goal: universal access to quality, affordable healthcare for all.
Reproductive & Family Rights
We fight for reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ family rights, and policies that protect bodily autonomy and family well-being. We believe everyone deserves care, support, dignity, and the freedom to make their own choices free from political interference.
Climate & Health
Climate change and pollution are bringing new challenges for public health, including increases in respiratory disease, heat-related illnesses, new vectors of disease transmission, and degradation of mental well-being We are partnering with the ITV’s Climate Justice Work Group to advocate for a coherent policy of health mitigations that account for the damage that polluters have made to our environment.
How We Organize:
Biweekly Team Meetings: Share insights, strategize, and take purposeful action together.
Community-Building Events: Connect and stand in solidarity through interest panels, relevant speakers, and mutual support.
Information Sharing: Inform our community about current healthcare issues, needs, and opportunities for action through a newsletter and organized tabling events.
We collaborate with broader coalitions. For instance, we have members on the health-care work group of the Indivisible CA: StateStrong (CASS) coalition. CASS advocates for state-level legislation that positively impacts all Californians. We are also members of the Fight for Our Health Care (FFOH) coalition.

CURRENT ACTION ITEMS
Fight for our Health Call to Action - Call Key Assembly Members This Week!
The proposed Fair Share Contribution requires the state’s largest 1-2% of corporations that are not paying their share of Medi-Cal for their employees to pay that cost to the state. California can no longer subsidize some of our largest corporations that are not paying healthcare coverage for their employees. Between $5-8 billion could be raised to offset healthcare-related costs and Medi-Cal. Call your Assembly member this week to voice your support!
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has proposed new federal rules that would require all Federal scientific research grants to be approved by political appointees, taking this responsibility away from career scientific experts in our nation’s science agencies.
Public Comments can be submitted directly on www.regulations.gov. Search for recent submissions by OMB to find docket OMB-2026-0034, (titled “Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance) which includes the full text of the proposed revisions and submit comments there. You can also view public comments already made for inspiration, but remember that your comment needs to be uniquely worded to be officially counted.
Alternatively, the Stand Up For Science organization has created a web form for submitting comments for submitting comments.
This link provides a summary of the impact of the proposed rules on scientific research.
